These terms and conditions are important for you to read ahead of your purchase. Please take the time to read them carefully.

These terms and conditions outline the usage of the site and the data driven behind it.

We host the car checking service on the website (www.cardetailscheck.co.uk) to provide an effective service to you (the user of the site).

Changes to the website

We may adjust or make changes to the website to make the user experience as best as possible. We may need to update the site to address any security threats, which will not affect the use of this site.

Providing you with vehicle checks

You must be 16 or over to use this site when purchasing a check. You will need to search for a vehicle and choose either the basic or the full report. We will then ask for your email address, first name and last name when making payment. Once you have paid for your check, we will validate the vehicle registration number and will charge you once we have successfully received information from our data supplier.

You will then be taken to a report and you will receive an email with a link to your report which will be available for 10 days, after which your name and email address, as well as the report will be deleted.

When we receive payment for vehicle checks, we will provide you with a report and an email with a link to the report as soon as possible.

We will not be responsible for any delays outside of our control. If the supply of data from our third-party trusted sources is delayed, we will contact you via email as soon as possible.

In the event you have entered the wrong email address when making payment, no email will be delivered and we cannot be responsible for any loss of information and you will still be charged.

Any payments which have been made by accident, such as purchasing a vehicle report twice for the same registration number cannot be refunded.

You may contact us via the form on the support link to gain help but we offer no guarantees in providing you with your report with incorrect email addresses.

In any event of an issue whereby a report cannot be shown to you, either from our application or from the data source, we will issue a refund via our support pages. Visit Support Page to log your request with the vehicle registration number and your name and email address.

After an accident, your insurance provider will assess the car's condition and let you know if it will be declared a write-off. If you've bought a used car and want to check whether it's been written off, you can obtain a vehicle history report.

A car is typically written off when the repair costs exceed a certain percentage of its value, often around 60-70%, depending on the insurer’s policies.

If your car is written off, your insurer may pay you the car's market value and terminate the policy, or offer a replacement car if you have coverage that allows for it.

The payout depends on the car's market value at the time of the accident, as well as the terms of your insurance policy. Your insurer will offer compensation based on these factors.

No, if a car is deemed a total loss or write-off, it is usually unsafe to drive. Written-off cars often have to be scrapped or repaired before being roadworthy again.
